“No tourism, no money.
No money, no food.”
Beginning in March, to protect against the spread of Covid-19, a strict shut-down was enforced in the Kingdom of Morocco. The country’s artisans — including textile weavers and jewelry makers, leather and wood workers, potters and zellīj masters — rely on tourism as a dominant income source. Due to border closures, many of these craft specialists, and their families, have been living with scarce resources for food and essential medicines. Our photo fundraiser was initiated in support of the Marrakech Artisan Fund. Each image was captured in Chefchaouen or Marrakech by Story Rebels founder Malika Ali Harding. All proceeds (minus production and shipping costs) are donated directly to this effort. Our campaign ends August 15, 2020. Consider adding a photographic print to your collection.
